Do you enjoy fitness programs that push you physically? Skip the gym and try something new! Cardio Tennis is a full-body, cardiovascular workout with intensity that can be tailored to a player’s athleticism and fitness level. The program involves 30-50 minutes of training, offering health benefits such as:

  • Aerobic Exercise
  • Calorie Burning
  • Improved Tennis Game

Cardio Tennis was designed in 1995 by Teaching Pro Mir Rahim, and officially adopted by the TIA and USTA in 2005 to fixate the increasing popularity of high energy, fitness activities among consumers.

The program offers specialty training that engages fast-twitch muscles and improves the footwork, both of which are key to functionality and quick movement. The program involves high intensity training followed by spurts of rest, similar to interval training. The three phases of the workout include:

  • The Warm Up
  • The Cardio Workout
  • The Cool Down

Mixing up your workout regimen is important in maintaining an active and healthy lifestyle on-and-off the courts. Director of Tennis and certified personal trainer Erica Cossairt recommends Cardio Tennis for players with all experience and fitness levels.
