Earlier this week, someone told me that tomorrow is National Golf Day. When I shared this with my husband, he lit up like our kids on Christmas morning and announced he would be playing hooky on Friday to celebrate his new favorite holiday. My son overheard this, asked what hooky was and then quickly declared he too would be playing hooky and ”going to play golf with Daddy”.
The course my husband likes to play at Sanibel Island Golf Club, which actually allows children under 15 to play for free as long as they’re with an adult.
This area really is perfect for a golfer. Since our climate is so mild, my husband hits the green year round. Even the summer is bearable because of the breeze always coming off the gulf.
The only real downside is that you will lose your ball to a gator every now and then. I think when that happens it’s perfectly acceptable to call a mulligan!
If you want to celebrate National Golf Day by enjoying a round of golf, here are the three courses on Sanibel:
1100 Par View Dr, Sanibel, FL
949 Sand Castle Rd, Sanibel, FL
2801 Wulfert Rd, Sanibel, FL
