Saying I Do at Sundial Celebration
Saying I Do at Sundial
Vows were said, shells were tossed and a few bunnies crashed the wedding. Discover more about Lynsey and Chris’s Sundial celebration and Florida love story.
How did you meet?
Chris and I met through mutual friends on Marco Island (another Florida town about an hour and a half south of Sanibel).
How did he propose?
We were at a Valentine’s Day dinner party with about six other couples. When he proposed, only one other person in the room knew it was going to happen.
Describe your wedding style:
Nautical Romantic. I had a traditional style wedding dress and the bridal party and groom’s suit were all inspired by the ocean, in varying shades of blue.
What was your inspiration behind your dress and your bridal party’s attire?
We both have a passion for blue. It’s cool, calming and sophisticated and perfectly fit our Nautical Romantic aesthetic.
What were some of your favorite details about your wedding?
I really loved the handmade boards we used for the seating assignments. My favorite unplanned wedding detail was the island bunnies that were hopping around the ceremony site.
What were some memorable moments from your wedding day?
For me, it was the moment that Chris and I stood in front of all of our friends, family and wedding guests for the first time. Also, we absolutely loved the group shell toss at the end of the ceremony. It was truly a gift to see all our loved ones send out their own blessings for us.
Why did you choose Sundial as your wedding venue?
It was a combination of factors: the centralized location of being at the resort and most guests being able to relax and enjoy the weekend, the beach setting for the event, and ease of transition to the reception.
Would you recommend Sundial to other couples? Why?
Yes, as I mentioned before just the ease of everything being right there made the whole weekend more enjoyable. We didn’t have to worry about traveling to the venue the day of. Most guests made it a mini-vacation and were at the resort for the whole weekend which made spending time with all guests easier and not rushed. The pace of the wedding weekend was a lot less stressful and more relaxing.
What are you most looking forward to in married life?
Seeing what the future holds for our family and growing old together all while enjoying the adventure of life.
What advice would you give to future brides and grooms to be?
We did a lot of planning and gave ourselves plenty of time to have everything just how we wanted. Don’t feel you have to rush through the planning to get from engagement to “I Do”. The fact that we had so much time to plan made our special weekend so much more enjoyable and stress-free. Just knowing all that preparation helped to make for a fantastic weekend not only for us but for our guests as well which really showed in the final result.
