Green is the New Neutral
Couples are choosing the move away from an all-neutral color palate and replace those quiet tones with soft greens. Our experts are also seeing greenery take center stage in floral décor where the flowers are there to accent the greenery and not the other way around.
A Return of Pearls and Sparkle
After years of more simplified designs leading the charge, we are seeing a resurgence in embellishments on dresses and accessories. This year, pearls are by far the most popular adornment! They are timeless, classic, elegant, and, even better, they come from the sea. Pearls fit in perfectly with any beach-themed wedding and are a harmonious complement to shells and ocean-inspired décor items.
Color of the Year: Periwinkle
Pantone announced that Very Peri was the color of 2022. The color is a ‘periwinkle blue hue with a vivifying violet-red undertone’. The color is flattering on a wide range of skin tones and is also readily available in an assortment of flower varieties.

Intimate I Dos
Small, intimate weddings continue to be on-trend for 2022. Also known as mini-monies or micro weddings, these pared-down gatherings offer many benefits, including a reduced budget, more relaxed environments, more time to spend with each guest and less logistical shuffling (bye-bye seating arrangement nightmares).
Rings Expand Their Range
More and more couples are leaning away from traditional diamonds and leaning into ethically sourced diamonds, lab diamonds, alternative gems, and artisan or antique pieces. Blue Nile, who we recently partnered with for a feature on wedding planning, offers a wide selection of alternative options.
Making Your Own Traditions
We saved the best for last! Our favorite 2022 wedding trend is individualized traditions that better reflect the couple. The hard and fast rules about the schedule of events, who should be in which wedding party, and what activities should or should not be included are no longer set in stone. Your wedding should be about you and your spouse-to-be, not about what a rulebook says it should be.
At Sundial, our goal is to make you shine, create an event you can enjoy in the moment and in memories and photos for years to come, and celebrate your love. Start planning today!
