6 Feet Apart on Sanibel
We’re delighted to welcome you back to Sundial Beach Resort & Spa! Your safety is our number one priority, and we want to make sure you have a safe and enjoyable vacation experience. We’ve taken the SanCap Safe Pledge and are following CDC guidelines to ensure our guests and staff stay healthy and happy while everyone enjoys the island. Sundial’s large property and vast amount of outdoor space makes it the perfect destination to enjoy a vacation while still maintaining a safe social distance.
The CDC recommends you keep 6 feet apart from others when you’re away from home. We’ve come up with a few ideas to help you visualize that space and enjoy Sundial at the same time.
Pickleball – the ‘ideal social distancing sport’. Pickleball courts are already divided up to give you, your partner and your opponents plenty of space to play. The kitchen keeps opposing teams 7 feet from the net and each service area is 10 x 15 feet, more than enough room to keep your distance without losing your competitive edge.
With beaches open to enjoy, why not build a large family sandcastle to flex your kids’ creativity and offer a fun way to demonstrate what 6 feet apart looks like? Our recreation team is also keeping lounges properly spaced so that you and your family have plenty of room to enjoy the beach.
A palm frond on a mature tree can reach up to 10 feet in length! Keep one palm frond away and you’ll be over-achieving on the social distance goal.
These 6-feet-wide umbrellas serve as a marker between you and others to avoid contact and overlap to keep you and your family safe. Even better, they provide the perfect amount of shade from the hot afternoon sun!
Turtle nests are an exciting sight this time of year! Coincidentally, they are also a perfect 6 feet across from opposite stakes.
For young kids, sometimes distance can be a struggle. Just let them know to keep one Anthony away from other guests and they’ll be good to go! Anthony is also a great resource for tips on kayaking and paddleboarding in the Gulf.
With your safety, security, and comfort in mind, we have instituted protocols to make your visit the best it can be. For more information on current safety protocols, visit our Updates Page.
