Celebrate July 4th on Sanibel Island

DATE: June 23, 2016

Sundial Beach Resort & Spa invites you to spend July 4th on Sanibel Island and enjoy the beach with the family soaking up rays and splashing in the warm Gulf waters.

Sanibel Island is one of Florida’s largely unspoiled areas. More than half of the island is made up of wildlife refuges offering visitors an opportunity to experience wild Florida.

The Island was only accessible by ferry until 1963. That isolation kept the island’s population small which continues to offer a laid-back island experience.

Fourth of July is one of the signature events on the island, which becomes awash in patriotic activities. Among the larger events is the Independence Day Parade, sponsored by the Sanibel-Captiva Chamber of Commerce. The parade features an eclectic mix of floats and cars decorated in a variety of motifs. The local parade harkens back to small-town America and starts Independence Day off with a dose of patriotism.

The parade starts at 9:30 a.m. at Tarpon Bay Road on Periwinkle Way and ends at Casa Ybel Road.

After the parade, Sundial guests can spend the day on the beach or in one of our five pools. When hunger strikes, choose from one of our four onsite restaurants where you can enjoy breakfast, lunch, dinner or an anytime snack.

Fireworks bursting in the evening sky.

At dusk, the night sky bursts into colorful fireballs during the annual fireworks display. The display celebrates its 26th year in 2016 and draws thousands from around the area.
