Recently, we had the pleasure of hosting Austin and Kelsey’s wedding and their celebration was the perfect blend of understated elegance and intimate charm. From a deeply personal driveway proposal to a beachfront reception that guests are still raving about, here is their journey to the altar, told in the bride’s own words.

How did you meet?

We met online—no “cool bar story” to share here! This was about four years ago, back before online dating got truly crazy.

Describe the proposal.

Austin knows I absolutely hate crowds and being the center of attention, so he kept it perfectly personal. After taking me to dinner for our second anniversary, we arrived home and he asked me to go inside for a moment. Meanwhile, he transformed the driveway with rose petals, candles, and champagne. While I waited, he had a five-page letter for me to read. When I was finally called back outside, our wedding song, “Someone Like You,” was playing in the garage, and I just knew. He got down on one knee, and the rest is history!

What were some of your favorite details from your wedding?

We loved how upscale, yet intimate, the entire experience felt—from the rehearsal dinner to the ceremony and the reception. We truly had the best of both worlds: a beautiful backdrop at a classy resort paired with food that was so amazing every single guest mentioned it.
