Gabby & Matt Say ‘I Do’ at Summer Wedding

DATE: July 17, 2018

Gabby and Matt chose Sundial to be the venue for their early summer wedding. We were honored to be a part of this special couple’s special day and wish them all the happiness in the world!

How did you meet?

On Tinder! People can never believe we found each other on an app, but you honestly never know when you’ll meet your soul mate.

What were some of your favorite wedding details? How did you come up with them?

Matt proposed to me on the beach while searching for sea glass. That’s our favorite thing to do, so incorporating sea glass was a special detail. We brought some sea glass that we found the day we got engaged and had our photographer stage our rings with them. We used sea glass for our table numbers and guest place cards. Each guest got to take home the glass with their name on it.

We’re also huge dog lovers and wanted our pit bull Poppy to be a part of it in some way, so we made “The Poppy” our signature drink and included him on our guestbook.

Once you decided on Sundial, how did you choose where you wanted the ceremony and reception to be?

Our vision for our wedding was to have a full beach wedding, from the ceremony to the reception. When speaking with Ashley, she made the process really easy. Sundial was the first venue out of many that we spoke to that would be able to accommodate everything we wanted. I was so grateful!

What are some of your most memorable moments from the wedding?

Matt and I chose not to do a first look, which I was initially against. But seeing each other (and his reaction!) while I was walking down the aisle ended up being one of the day’s best moments. “Somewhere Over the Rainbow” was playing and there were wedding and hotel guests everywhere, but in that moment, it felt like we were the only two there.

Another memorable moment was the sunset photos with our photographer, which I could definitely recommend! They are some of our favorite shots.

What advice would you give future brides thinking about tying the knot at Sundial?

Working with Ashley and everyone at Sundial made planning our destination wedding so much easier! She helped me with every concern, question and worry I had and reassured me promptly, which is what every bride needs. Also, don’t give up on your vision! I went through a ton of venues until we found Sundial, but it was worth it. They were able to offer us everything we could have ever wanted.
