Planning the Perfect Sundial Wedding
This October, Anna and Dylan tied the knot on Sanibel Island in a ceremony filled with color, joy, sentimental memories, and with their loved ones in attendance. We spoke with their wedding planner, Brooke Castro of Brooke & Co., to get the inside scoop on how this day came together.
Check out our full Q&A below to see how this couple’s colorful vision was brought to life at Sundial Beach Resort & Spa.
Tell us about this couple—what was their initial vision for the big day, and how did you help them refine it?
I absolutely loved working with Anna & Dylan. Anna envisioned a stunning, bright and colorful day on the beach at Sundial, which had played an important role as a family vacation spot through the years. Bringing the vision to life was so much fun because as a planner who loves color, it was so enjoyable to play with the different styling elements. From colorful linens to seating chart design and florals, this truly was one of my favorite weddings.
As a professional planner, what specific features at Sundial make it a standout choice for your clients’ ceremonies and receptions?
Sundial has it all, the beautiful beach views, the accommodations for traveling guests, the easy access to nearby amenities. I also love that Sundial has an after-party location on site as well as a backup location in case of weather changes. The ceremony spot also really stood out to me because of the lawn and palm trees. This particular venue allows the couple to have a beach wedding without being directly on the sand.
What are the logistical advantages of wedding planning with Sundial that make the process smoother for both the couple and the vendors?
Sundial’s main draws as a venue are easy access and onsite parking, accommodations available for traveling guests, great food and bar options for those staying at the resort and beautiful views of the beach. Plus, the staff are lovely and wonderful to work with!
What is your #1 piece of expert advice for couples planning a destination wedding?
When planning a destination wedding, the most important part is choosing a venue that not only fits your vision but is also able to comfortably accommodate your traveling guests. This prevents added stress during the wedding planning process and makes for a more relaxing and enjoyable experience for all parties involved.
What was one ‘magic moment’ from Anna + Dylan’s wedding where the venue and the vision came together perfectly?
I think one of the most magical moments was the bike and wedding florals with a photo of her beautiful sister who had passed away. Anna had the incredible idea to feature the photo of her sister riding the Sundial bike as a memorial to her, and it turned out to be so special.
