Take out a complimentary kayak right from the beach at Sundial and paddle around the Gulf, getting a fresh view of the beaches and resort. For the more adventurous, take a kayak tour through Ding Darling or the mangrove islands. Not only is it a great upper body and core work out, you’ll get to see a side of the island only accessible by water.
This hot sport combines the balance skills of surfing with the paddling and maneuverability of kayaking. Our activities center has paddleboards available for Sundial guests to learn on. Whether you’re a first-timer or an old pro, paddleboarding is a great way to get out on the water and work out your core and upper body at the same time.
Sanibel Island has miles of bike trails that crisscross all over the island. From short trails to long, there is a path to suit you and we have bikes here available for our guests to take out on any island adventure! There is even a selection of toddler seats, kiddie carts and kids bikes so the whole family and get in on the fun!
Shelling may not be the first thing you think of when you are coming up with a list of ways to stay active on vacation, but it can be! Walking in the sand offers more resistance than walking on hard surfaces and burns almost two times the calories. Make sure to add long walks on the beach to your holiday workout plan.
Start up a game of Beach Volleyball with your travel crew! Pick your teams and take over our beach court. And don’t be afraid to really go for the ball! The sand is a lot more forgiving than a gym floor.

Almost every day of the week, our Tennis and Pickleball pros have scheduled clinics, drills and open play for you to join and practice your game! Court time and equipment are complimentary, and you can register for private lessons and clinics when you plan your trip.
Saturday Beach Yoga is a great way to kick-start your day and clear your mind for all the vacation fun ahead! You can sign up with activities (just $10) and enjoy a great session right on the beach.
