While it may not be an event, one of the most fun things to do on Sanibel in the summer is spend time at the beach. At Sundial, you are right on the water, with easy access to the beach and Gulf and all they have to offer. Scour the shores for spectacular shell finds, take out one of the complimentary kayaks or paddleboards and explore the water, or just pick a lounge chair and spend the day soaking up the sun!
10th Annual “Ding” Darling & Doc Ford’s Tarpon Tournament, Sanibel Island

Each Year, the “Ding” Darling & Doc’s Ford’s Tarpon Tournament brings together sports fishermen from all around to raise money for the conservation of the refuge and compete to win the top prize of the day. Last year’s winning team took home over $25,000 for their first-place fish!
12th Annual Fort Myers Film Festival
May 18 – 22, Fort Myers

24th Annual MangoMania Tropical Fruit Festival

The MangoMania Tropical Fruit Festival is a celebration of the bounty of the island. “This fun-filled family event will include tropical fruit sales & tastings, tropical fruit-inspired foods and beverages, island growers, local artisans, kids’ activities, contests, live music, adult beverages, and much more!”

Island Hopper Songwriter Fest
September 16 – 25, Captiva, Fort Myers, Fort Myers Beach
“Island Hopper Songwriter Fest is a 10-day music festival in Southwest Florida featuring performances by the greatest singer-songwriters from Nashville and nationwide. The festival is broken up into three locations with the first weekend kicking off on Captiva Island (Sept. 16-18, 2022).” Even better, most of the shows are FREE!
