SUNDIAL FIRST RESORT TO OFFER BEACH CLEAN-UP STATION

Guests are invited to “vacation with purpose” as Sundial partners with Sanibel-Captiva Conservation Foundation (SCCF) to make shoreline stewardship part of every beach day. 

SANIBEL ISLAND, Fl. (November 12, 2025) — Sundial Beach Resort & Spa is proud to announce a bold new step in its environmental stewardship: partnering with the Sanibel‑Captiva Conservation Foundation (SCCF) to host the very first Beach Bucket Station at a resort destination on Sanibel or Captiva. 

Nestled along the shimmering Gulf waters and shell-strewn shores of Sanibel Island, Sundial understands that the beach is more than a backdrop; it’s the heart of the guest experience. With that in mind, the resort is the first hospitality partner to integrate SCCF’s easy, hands-on marine-debris-collection program right into its beachfront operations.

Launched in 2022 by SCCF, the Beach Bucket Station makes conservation simple and meaningful. Guests grab a marked bucket and collect any debris along the shoreline. Upon their return to the clean-up station, any debris is weighed and reported to SCCF via QR code—turning a walk on the beach into valuable data that helps protect Sanibel’s natural habitats.

Single-use plastics, micro-debris and marine-trash items pose ongoing threats to water quality, shoreline wildlife and the overall natural beauty that draws visitors to Sanibel. With the new station at Sundial, guests can take part in the solution by helping to: 

• Reduce marine trash on the island’s beaches. 
• Raise awareness among visitors that even informal beach strolls can be turned into acts of stewardship. 
• Set a new standard for resort-based environmental programming. 

Sundial encourages every guest—whether visiting for a night or a week—to grab a bucket, enjoy their time on the beach, and help leave the shoreline cleaner than they found it. Sundial also hopes that other local businesses and hospitality operators will view this initiative as an invitation to join the cause, amplifying the island-wide conservation effort.
