Sam and Matt say I Do in Spring Wedding at Sundial

Earlier this year, Sam and Matt tied the knot at a beautiful spring wedding at Sundial. Surrounded by their closest friends and family, the couple said, “I do”, on the Lace Murex lawn, with a plush, natural backdrop of tropical greenery. How did you meet?

[Matt and I] met in high school – we were high school sweethearts! We are from Northern Virginia and have always loved the beach, so we knew we were always going to do a destination wedding by the water.

What were some of your favorite details about your wedding?

We loved our ceremony site. There was a huge rainstorm the day before our wedding and it wasn’t ideal to get married in the sand, which was our original ceremony and reception site. However, we absolutely fell in love with the Lace Murex Lawn! It was even better than the sand would have been. The lawn fit our 55 guests perfectly. The palm trees gave us shade and felt and looked like absolute paradise.

We also loved the cocktail hour on the balcony overlooking the gulf. The views were unreal!

Lastly, we did a sand ceremony during our ceremony and we loved that personal and unique touch – a lot of our guests had not seen that before. We also made it our own by taking sand from our favorite beaches to use during the ceremony.

What were some memorable moments from your wedding day?

We loved being able to take pictures just the two of us on the beach – both before the ceremony after our first look and during sunset. Our photographers were amazing and fun and made us comfortable. And we were so happy to get those beach shots that we desired!

We also enjoyed reading our own vows to one another. This is always a personal touch that we love witnessing at other weddings and were excited to do at our own. It was a special moment.

Why did you choose Sundial as your wedding venue?

We chose Sundial because we loved Sanibel Island and Sundial had great wedding package options. We also love how Sundial has a variety of 1, 2 and 3-bedroom condos for our guests to enjoy. They offered fantastic wedding rates for the rooms, too! We loved all the ceremony options and most of all, had a great first impression with our coordinator, Francesca, who answered all our questions rapidly and with ease.

Would you recommend Sundial Resort to other couples? Why? 

Absolutely! The staff took amazing care of us all weekend long and all our guests raved about the resort. Views were unbelievable and there were so many activities for guests of all ages. We loved the size of the resort and the dining options.
