Vote Sundial Beach Resort & Spa Best Staycation and Best Waterfront Dining!
Everyone knows it’s true – that Sundial Beach Resort & Spa has it all. That is, everyone who has ever stayed at the Sanibel Island vacation spot in Southwest Florida.
What more could you ask for? The gentle shores of the Gulf of Mexico lapping delicately a serene rhythm to soothe the soul. The fine culinary offerings of Sundial’s three restaurants. The myriad recreational choices for all makes and models of Sundial guests. It is the discovery Ponce de León kept missing in 1515.
It is the Spanish explorer’s gold. It is his fountain of fun. It is Sundial Beach Resort & Spa.
But alas. We at Sundial Beach Resort & Spa certainly embrace the splendor. Our satisfied guests appreciate the sundry opportunities available at the Sunshine State’s hidden treasure. We’re hoping the world will take notice as well.
The News-Press – the daily newspaper covering Fort Myers, Florida and surrounding areas – is set to publish a poll in its June 7 edition asking readers who they think is the best in Southwest Florida. Called the 25th annual Best of Southwest Florida, the poll is set to run for two weeks. Voting is June 7 – June 22.
For more information about the poll, go to www.news-press.com/bestofswfla.
Last year, Sundial Beach Resort & Spa won the Best Staycation in Southwest Florida. A staycation is for vacationers who’d prefer not to travel long distances and often live nearby.
We at Sundial Beach Resort & Spa think it’s an open-and-shut case. And Sanibel is different from any other area. It has a totally different feel. It is Sanibel Island’s only full-service resort.
Even the ride into Sanibel – over the bridge – has a transformative effect on the emotions. It is, in some small respects, a ethereal excursion. We even fancy it teetering toward a Dantean Paradiso experience.
For vacation getaways, we have it all. You name it. No, wait. We’ll name it:
- Three restaurants (Slice of Paradice, Turtle’s Pool & Beach Bar, and Sea Breeze Café)
- Two full-service bars (one indoors and one outdoors)
- Kayaks
- Paddleboards
- Bicycles (tandems, surreys, kiddy-trailers, training wheels)
- A spa overlooking the gulf; beach umbrellas and chairs
- A marketplace
- HydroGrid tennis courts with a tennis professional and tennis programs
- Activities programs
- The new fitness center
- The Sanibel Sea School
- Five heated pools
- Long stretches of beautiful beaches
The resort is also in the running for Best Waterfront Dining category. After all, each Sundial restaurant has a view of the Gulf. But Sea Breeze’s view! In particular. Well, the name says it all.
Each of the three restaurants offers some unique quality that is sure to impress even the most discerning of palates. Opened 11 a.m. – 9 p.m., Slice of Paradice offers guests casual fare for either take out or to enjoy at the poolside dining area, including exquisite pizza and delectable ice cream. Besides the panoramic Gulf view and the preparations by the master chef of the house, Sea Breeze Café is open 7 a.m. – 10 p.m. Turtle’s, a tiki establishment with outdoor seating, is opened 11 a.m. – 7 p.m., serving casual favorites and specialties.
We think it’s like a cruise ship where everything you need is right here.
Everyone, we say! Teenagers, children. Adults. Men, women. And all creatures anywhere in between. There’s something for everyone.
The newspaper will choose one random voter (at least 13 years old) to win a prize package in the contest. The prize is $500 in gift certificates from participating businesses.
